5 Benefits of Honda's Certified Pre-Owned Program

The best way to get the full Honda experience is with a new model. But if that is not in the cards, the certified pre-owned(CPO) selection at your Honda dealership in Columbia, MO is a solid option. Let's explain why we think certified pre-owned benefits are hard to pass up. 1. Only the Best Make the Cut A vehicle has to meet certain requirements to get into Honda's certified pre-owned program. As of 2025, they are taking vehicles from 2020 and newer, which means you're looking at cars that are up to 5 years old. Given Honda's build quality, these vehicles still have plenty of life ahead of them and all the modern features you could want. Mileage and service history also play a big role. Right now, the requirement is that the vehicle must have been on the road for at least 12 months or driven 12,000 miles since it was first sold or leased, with no more than 80,000 miles at the time of delivery to the customer. 2. Thorough Multi-Point Inspection If a vehicle clears the age and mileage hurdles, it receives a thorough check-up, with every inch of the car inspected by Honda-certified technicians. This inspection covers everything from the engine and brakes to interior lights. A downloadable report is provided, so you can see what was checked and any fixes made. It's worth noting that Honda's 182-point inspection is one of the most comprehensive in the industry, surpassing Toyota's 160, Nissan's 167, and Chevrolet's 172. 3. Warranty Honda stands behind its certified pre-owned vehicles with a warranty, not just words. Coverage for the powertrain lasts for 7 years or 100,000 miles, while everything else is covered for an extra two years or up to 100,000 miles. 4. Extra Perks A Honda CPO vehicle will draw you in with its value, but it's the extra perks that seal the deal. They include free roadside assistance for the duration of your warranty, two complimentary oil changes within one year/12,000 miles, a three-day exchange policy (which allows you to exchange your purchased car for another Honda CPO vehicle), and trip interruption benefits. Now that you know the benefits of a CPO vehicle, it's time to explore your options at Columbia Honda in Columbia, MO. We've got a wide selection of Honda CPO cars waiting for you.

The Ultimate Minivan Experience: The 2025 Honda Odyssey

Minivans are built for practicality, but who says they can't be fun too? The 2025 Honda Odyssey handles all the usual tasks, i.e., hauling kids, groceries, and cargo, but with a little excitement behind the wheel. If you're going to spend years shuttling your crew around, why not enjoy the drive, too? What's New? The current generation of the Odyssey has been rolling around 2018 with only a few tweaks along the way, so for 2025, Honda decided it was time for some updates. The most noticeable change is the new face, featuring a new grille, reshaped fascias, and larger fog light surrounds. Honda says the new rear bumper is dressed up with the same vertical reflectors used on the Acura NSX supercar. Not something you'd expect from a minivan, but here we are. The interior got its share of improvements, too, especially in the tech department. Gone is the traditional gauge cluster, replaced by a seven-inch digital display. A nine-inch infotainment display is standard on every Odyssey. This screen features a faster processor for lag-free operation. Rear passengers are also in for a treat with a revamped entertainment system, now sporting a 12.8-inch screen, up from the previous 10.2 inches. Which Family-Friendly Features Should You Know About? The 2025 Odyssey comes packed with loads of features to make family life a little easier. One of the best is the second-row Magic Seats. These innovative seats can slide side-to-side and back and forth, giving you lots of options for extra space and comfort. They can also fold flat for easy removal and carrying. Other standard and available features you'll appreciate as a parent include an in-cabin camera, an in-vehicle intercom system, a foot-activated power liftgate, USB ports on all three rows, and 38.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row. Is It Powerful? Honda is sticking with their tried-and-true 280-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 for the 2025 Odyssey. It's a solid, reliable powerhouse that should keep things moving smoothly even with a full load. Plus, it's pretty efficient, delivering an estimated 19 mpg city and 28 mpg city. It's worth noting that the Odyssey is one of the more powerful minivans out there. For comparison, the Toyota Sienna delivers 245 horsepower while the Kia Carnival puts out 242 miles. To reserve your 2025 Odyssey, contact Columbia Honda in Columbia, MO. We're excited to help you get started.

Three Benefits of Trading in Your Vehicle at Your Honda Dealership

If you're tired of your current vehicle and want to upgrade to something new, you don't have to put in the work to try to find a buyer. Instead, you can sell it to your dealership through the trade-in process. The team at your local Honda dealership can buy your vehicle, and you can enjoy all the trade-in benefits and get a new vehicle that's perfect for your lifestyle. 1. A Quick Trade Appraisal Process You can begin the trade-in process before you even set foot in the dealership by filling out an online form. You'll need to enter some pertinent information about your vehicle to get an estimated trade-in value. Then, you can move forward with the process, knowing that you'll get the best value for your trade. 2. The Best Value for Your Vehicle Used cars are in high demand, so when you take your vehicle to the dealership and begin the trade-in process, you can expect that they'll give you exactly what your vehicle is worth based on its condition and no less. Additionally, you won't have to do all the legwork involved with selling your vehicle or searching through the different online car-selling options to take your vehicle off your hands. You won't have to deal with haggling buyers or settle for anything less than what your vehicle is worth. The process will be completely professional, efficient, and hassle-free. 3. Excellent Trade-In Replacement Options One of the benefits of trading in your current vehicle to the dealership is that once you complete the process, you can find something new at that same dealership and get a lower drive-away price. Your trade-in value will be applied to your total purchase so you can explore the brand-new Hondas available on the lot, including the Honda Civic, Honda Ridgeline, Honda CR-V, and more. You can also explore the dealership's preowned models if you're searching for a quality used option. Whatever the case, you'll be able to find what you're looking for and can drive your old vehicle to the dealership and take a new one home the same day. If you're ready to upgrade your vehicle, we'll make the trade-in process simple, profitable, and stress-free. Contact Columbia Honda in Columbia, MO to learn more and start the trade-in process.

car battery

Battery Care 101: When Should I Replace My Car Battery?

The average life of a car battery is three to five years under normal operating conditions. Extreme heat or cold and electrical system issues can reduce this lifespan. Fortunately, a battery almost always shows signs it's weakening, giving you time to get a replacement. As your Honda dealer, we want to tell you a few signs you'll need to visit us for a car battery replacement. Signs You Need a Car Battery Replacement at Your Honda Dealer Slow Starting When you think of battery problems, slow starting is probably the first that comes to mind. The battery provides the initial electrical charge that powers the starter to crank your engine and begin combustion. This charge uses a relatively fixed amount of power. As a battery ages, the chemicals inside break down, reducing its electricity storage capacity. If its storage capacity drops low enough, the battery can't supply enough power to the crank. You'll hear a sad-sounding metallic clicking noise as the starter tries and fails to crank. We'll test your battery and install a new one if it's failing. Weak Alternator Once your engine is running, the alternator, a mini electrical generator in the engine, starts recharging your battery. It charges at full capacity for ten minutes and then switches to charging at a lower rate to prevent damaging the battery. An alternator will wear out, and the power it supplies will drop. The alternator is also responsible for powering all electrical systems in your Honda. Eventually, a weak alternator won't be able to supply enough power for all the systems that demand it, reducing the electricity that can be supplied to the battery. If the battery can't replenish the power used to start the engine, it will gradually weaken and fail. Our technicians will check your alternator and replace it if needed. Dim Headlights This is one of the early signs of a weakening battery that can't supply enough power. When the engine is off, the battery supplies power to all your car's systems. This doesn't cause any drain on a healthy battery, but a failing battery won't have enough electricity stored to provide for all the systems. A weak battery can supply enough power for systems to work, but not enough for them to work correctly. If more power is needed, the amount of electricity supplied to other systems has to be reduced, and the headlight will dim rather than shine brightly. Replacing the batter will fix this issue. If your battery is weakening, contact us today at Columbia Honda in Columbia, MO.
