Accessibly priced and laden with innovative features, it’s little wonder that the 2024 Honda HR-V is so popular among young buyers and new families. This subcompact crossover SUV is the smallest SUV Honda makes, but it’s still roomy inside and easy to drive, with agile handling that makes it ideal for busy urban drives. None of the HR-V’s three trim levels are likely to disappoint.

Honda HR-V LX

All three HR-V’s are driven by a robust 2.0 L DOHC i-VTEC four-cylinder engine that generates up to 156 hp at 6500 rpm and 138 lb-ft of torque at 4200 rpm. The engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), which contributes to the HR-V’s smooth ride quality. All trims are available in FWD or Real-Time AWD versions and include three drive modes: Normal, ECON, and Snow.

Standard features include Honda Sensing driver-assist technologies such as Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow. The LX interior is loaded with advanced tech, much of it centering around a 7″ infotainment touchscreen. There’s Bluetooth and USB connectivity, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.

Honda HR-V Sport

The Sport lives up to its name with 18″ gloss-black wheels (versus the silver-painted 17″ wheels of the LX), heated gloss-black side mirrors with integrated indicators, a gloss-black rear roofline spoiler, and all-season tires. The trend continues inside with sport-style seats accented with orange stitching, and you get an extra couple of speakers with a 6-speaker audio system.

A selection of luxury features also appear in the HR-V Sport, like heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, power windows with auto up/down control over both sides of the car, rear privacy glass, and illuminated vanity mirrors. Technological extras include Remote Engine Start and Smart Entry with Walk-Away Auto Lock. You can also add the Honda Sensing Blind Spot Information System (BSI) to the Sport.

Honda HR-V EX-L

A bigger 9″ touchscreen and an 8-speaker audio system are two notable upgrades in the EX-L. Other appealing extras include wireless phone charging, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay support (hitherto USB-tethered), leather-trimmed seats, HD radio, SiriusXM support (subscription service), dual-zone climate control, front and rear parking sensors, a one-touch moonroof, an 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat, and ambient LED lighting.
