Accessibly priced and laden with innovative features, it’s little wonder that the 2024 Honda HR-V is so popular among young buyers and new families. This subcompact crossover SUV is the smallest SUV Honda makes, but it’s still roomy inside and easy to drive, with agile handling that makes it ideal for busy urban drives. None of the HR-V’s three trim levels are likely to disappoint.
Honda HR-V LX
All three HR-V’s are driven by a robust 2.0 L DOHC i-VTEC four-cylinder engine that generates up to 156 hp at 6500 rpm and 138 lb-ft of torque at 4200 rpm. The engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), which contributes to the HR-V’s smooth ride quality. All trims are available in FWD or Real-Time AWD versions and include three drive modes: Normal, ECON, and Snow.
Standard features include Honda Sensing driver-assist technologies such as Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow. The LX interior is loaded with advanced tech, much of it centering around a 7″ infotainment touchscreen. There’s Bluetooth and USB connectivity, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.
Honda Hybrid Maintenance: What You Need to Know
Honda hybrid vehicles are renowned for their innovation and reliability, but they still need regular servicing. How does hybrid car maintenance differ from that of a regular car? A hybrid car service covers hybrid-specific parts, naturally, but a hybrid car also tends to reduce traditional repair costs.
Engine-Related Maintenance
A Honda hybrid needs many of the same maintenance checks and tasks that are carried out on a regular car. It still has an internal combustion engine (ICE), so a Honda technician does familiar work like air filter changes, oil changes, spark plug replacement, and coolant checks. Because a hybrid car switches to electric operation at low speeds, it extends the engine’s lifespan.

There are no classes in school about caring for your vehicle, so many drivers don’t consider something like an air filter change. However, looking into an air filter service can make your life easier. The air filter replacement Columbia Honda offers is a fantastic value. Our team in Columbia, MO has served our community since 2015, but first, let’s go over why our services might be the best thing for your car’s performance.
Why Get An Engine Air Filter Change?
The engine is the beating heart that keeps your Honda working, but engines, like all complex machines, need to be taken care of to reach their full potential. The air filter’s job is to keep the engine free of dust and dirt that could impede its functions. If that filter becomes clogged, then debris can get into your engine and cause impure air to be a part of the combustion.
Changing out your filter can act like giving your Honda a new set of lungs, letting it breathe clean air and operate at a higher efficiency. This will increase your fuel efficiency so you’re not constantly filling up your tank. It will also increase your engine’s lifespan, so if you’re planning on driving your Honda long-term, this is a simple, easy way to save yourself the headache of a faulty engine down the road.

A good braking system is vital for your driving safety. As time passes, brake system components wear out or become damaged, reducing your brakes’ effectiveness. As your Honda dealer, we’d like you to know a few signs you need to visit us for a brake service so you can drive safely.
Noisy Brakes
Screeching and grinding noises are two of the sounds you can hear if your brakes need service. These sounds are made by worn brake pads that need replacement. The brake pads create friction when forced against the wheel rotors as soon as you hit the brakes. This friction is due to a special material covering the pads. The covering is 1/2″ thick on a new pad, but gradually wears down each time you apply the brakes.
The screeching noise is caused by a metal spike buried in the pad’s covering that will scratch against the rotor. Grinding noises are more serious, as they mean the material covering at least one pad has worn off. The metal pad then clamps against the rotor when you brake and scour the rotor surface. We can fix these issues by replacing your pads.
You’ll find so many highly desirable standard features in even the 2024 Honda Odyssey base model that you may not have to look any higher to find what you need. However, the upper-level trims offer plenty more, so you should have no problem finding exactly what will suit your family best.
